CuDCl
Copper dioxane chlordie is a typical S=1/2 chain material. What makes it interesting in particular is the really good one-dimensionality, convenient energy scale and the possibility to grow really large crystals up to few cm in size. On the experimental side this often outweighs the inconveniences related to the highly unstable nature of the compound that quickly decomposes in any environment other that dioxane liquid or vapor. In particular, the measurement on just one large crystal of CuDCl has yielded the scaling properties in the magnetized spin chain that are very difficult to access.
